American Land & Legacy is a coalition of landowners dedicated to defending our God-given, Constitutionally-protected property rights that safeguard family farms and ranches. This organization was born in one of the most intense political battles in South Dakota’s history, where landowners rallied together in a David vs. Goliath battle, and when they stood firm for what is right, we WON BIG against all odds.
But it didn’t come without a steep cost, and those battle scars won’t soon be forgotten. We faced the corrupt establishment, the career politicians, the unelected bureaucrats, the special corporate interests, and the donor class.
We watched as political warfare was waged against the citizens of South Dakota, while the red carpet was rolled out for the cronies. We were called every name in the book – whackadoodles, NIMBYs, BANANAs, and worse. We were laughed at for showing up to the capitol in our farmer plaid shirts and work jeans.
We watched as they steamrolled SB201, “the so-called landowner bill of rights,” in a blatant attempt to strip away local control and steal our property rights. And we realized that nobody was coming to save us. No government entity, no body of legislators, no political team….nobody was going to stop them from railroading landowners.
That’s where we come in.
We fight for family farmers, ranchers, and landowners – the people who steward this land, feed this nation, and pass something real on to the next generation.
